Our history

From a small crew to a multi-division earthmoving partner

DSM was formed in 1986 with a handful of passionate operators. Decades later, the same obsession with doing things right still powers our crews, dispatch, and project management teams.

What began as a single excavator and a small but diligent crew has expanded into DSM Group’s full-service operation. We now support residential, commercial, and industrial projects with in-house excavation, trucking, and site preparation teams that know the Lower Mainland’s soils and regulatory frameworks.

Our project managers, estimators, and field forepersons collaborate daily to align logistics, traffic control, shoring partners, and servicing trades. We take pride in doing things safely, communicating clearly, and leaving a clean site for the next trade in.

What drives us

Integrated departments, one standard

DSM is organized into crews that specialize yet communicate constantly, ensuring hand-offs stay tight and schedules stay firm.

Operations

Project managers, dispatch, and safety leaders work in lockstep with site supervisors to make sure mobilizations, haul permits, and inspections are ready before crews arrive.

Fleet

Over 50 pieces of DSM-owned equipment—service trucks, excavators, dozers, rollers, lowbeds, and traffic support—kept in peak condition by our maintenance division.

People

Multi-decade superintendents mentor newer operators and labour leaders, ensuring DSM’s core principles carry forward on every site.
